Hachiya Kazuhiko is a new media artist. He graduated from the Department of Graphic Design, Kyushu Institute of Design (now Department of Design, Kyushu University), and founded PetWORK afterwards. In October 2010, he began teaching at the Department of Intermedia Art, School of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts. He often incorporates thinking about functions in his installation works, and is known for several of his signature pieces, including Inter Dis-Communication Machine, POSTPET, Moewe, open sky, etc.
