A professional artist, Hsu Che-Yu holds an MFA from the Graduate Institute of Plastic Arts, Tainan National University of the Arts. In 2019, he participated in the two-year post-academic residency organized by the Higher Institute for Fine Arts (HISK) in Belgium. His work spans a range of media, including animation, video and installation, and mainly focuses on the relationship between medium and memory. For an artist, in his opinion, whether private or collective memory, the important thing is not merely the history of events that can be traced with media but also the process of how memory is constructed and viewed.
