Chen I-Chun’s work revolves around transdisciplinary textual experiment using image, painting and new media. Chen pays attention to issues related to agricultural and industrial regions as well as peripheral areas involved in warfare, and mysterious, treacherous myths and legends. The purpose of her work is to create an expansive secret map of history portraying what lies between individuals and regions, which also serves as a vehicle of her personal experience and living consciousness informed by elusive feelings. Attempting to create a dialogue with the real society, Chen uses poetry and deciphering as her creative approach, trying to narrate dreams and hopes with surrogates.
