Huang Hsi-Wen graduated from Tokyo Designer Gakuin College and founded “Friends of Comics” society with his friends, which marked the beginning of his creative career in design, comics and illustration. In 1987, he created the comic character “Blue Rex,” which was greatly popular among readers and later turned into a series of merchandise and stationary that became part of many readers’ teenage memory. In 2018, he published Shanghai Junior: A Story in China 1929, a comic series that he had worked on over a decade, and was later nominated for the Best Cross-media Application Award and the Best Comic for Teenage Boys in the 10th Golden Comic Award.
